For the third consecutive year, the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai, in cooperation with the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai, organized an exceptional celebration dedicated to the workforce in the Emirate of Dubai to mark the New Year. This humanitarian initiative expresses deep appreciation for the vital role of this segment of society and reflects Dubai’s commitment to placing people at the heart of its development, in line with the Year of the Community goals.
The event combined in-person attendance with virtual participation, allowing all workers in the Emirate of Dubai to engage with the event, whether through the on-site celebration venues or via live streaming and digital participation through the “Blue Connect” application, the official digital platform for the virtual celebration.
The application allows workers to register for free, access all events, initiatives, and services available on the platform, and follow the live stream and engage digitally, ensuring easy access and a comprehensive experience.
His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai, affirmed that organizing this celebration embodies the UAE’s humanitarian approach based on appreciation and gratitude. He pointed out that the workforce constitutes a fundamental pillar in the sustainability of development and a true partner in building the present and shaping the future. He also noted Dubai’s commitment to developing innovative initiatives that strengthen the sense of belonging and celebrate the efforts exerted within the country.
For his part, Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in Dubai, explained that this event reflects a firmly established institutional vision based on strengthening social cohesion and appreciating the humanitarian efforts of the workforce. He emphasized that the event was designed to be a space for collective joy, translating the values of the community into tangible reality.
The celebration will take place in several designated areas for the workforce, including Jebel Ali, Al Quoz, and Muhaisnah, starting at 6:00 PM. It will feature a diverse program of activities, along with raffles for valuable prizes totaling over AED 500,000.
Through this initiative, Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs reaffirms its ongoing commitment to fostering the values of tolerance and diversity, and promoting a positive environment that values individuals and celebrates their contributions. The Directorate reiterates its invitation to the workforce in the Emirate of Dubai to participate in this exceptional occasion, whether in person or virtually, and to contribute to creating a collective moment of joy that reflects the spirit of Dubai and underscores that people will always remain at the heart of the development process.
